This is a painting that is on the back cover of a book called Legend of the Bushwhacker Basket. It’s a really neat study of a basket making community that was centered in upstate New York, not far from where I live.
This is the latest basket I’ve made. It’s one of the bigger ones so far. It’s about 12 1/2″ in diameter and 16″ high with the handle. It’s painted with blue milk paint outside and stained around the rim, handle, and interior.
This is my latest basket. It is a square to round and measures about 12″ in diameter at the top. It’s made out of reed and stained.

This is a small round basket I made. It’s only 4″ diameter and less than 2″ tall
